Greetings,

The Wiquapaug Eastern Pequot Indian Tribe is a 501 (c)(3) a nonprofit organization recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.  The WEPIT is based in Rhode Island and has submitted a petition for federal recognition with the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The WEPIT is embarking on several projects that will benefit both our people and the surrounding community. Our hope is that you will be part of our journey going forward. One of our most pressing goals is to obtain a piece of property that holds an important place in the history of our tribe. We are seeking donations to support this effort and funds raised will be used for this most worthy goal. Once legal ownership to this land is obtained it will lay the groundwork for other goals such as construction of an educational institution devoted to Native American studies. With each step, we hope to develop an economic base that could provide opportunities for our people and the community. Our community / tribe / world is facing many problems and like many others the WEPIT is trying to find solutions to better us all.

We are currently asking for contributions to support our mission. Your support is crucial to our efforts. All donors who contribute any amount will be honored in our newsletter. Friends who donate between $50.00 - $200.00 will receive a card of thanks. Donors over $200 will have their name added to a plaque that will be displayed in their honor, on the land once it is obtained. All contributions are tax deductible because we are a legal non-profit organization.

We want to thank you in advance for your contribution. “We would like to keep you informed about our progress as we attempt to achieve our goals the most important of which is making our community a better place to live and work.”  You are welcome to follow our efforts in our newsletter going forward by asking to be included on our mailing list.

Thank you and stay safe,

Aho

Sincerely,
Wiquapaug Eastern Pequot Indian Tribe
